HGH and obesity and weight loss
Obesity and weight loss come as a result of reduction in the secretion of growth hormone. It is well established that adult growth hormone deficiency (GHD) usually is accompanied by an increase in fat accumulation. The replacement of GH in adult patients with GHD results in reduction of fat mass and abdominal fat mass in particular. It is also noted that obesity and abdominal obesity in particular results in a secondary reduction in GH secretion and subnormal insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I) levels.
